Under Rated Reads | The Nerds Recommend

The Nerds are here to share books that they feel are under rated.

Under Rated Reads: Books that need more hype, that everyone should be reading. Books that we push on people the most.

24795938Edgewater by Courtney Sheinmel: This book has a little bit of everything; it has a mystery, a romance, mental illness, and most of all incredible writing.

21896076Play On by Michelle Smith: This is a young adult baseball romance that deals with depression in such a great way; it’s a must read.

12578077The Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout: One of the best science fiction/romance I have ever read.

5821978The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han: the perfect coming-of-age book that is also a great summer read.

16466436Unravel by Calia Read:  This book left me absolutely speechless at the end. Be prepared for it to completely break you.

71366The Inkworld Series by Cornelia Funke – This whole series contains such a wonderful fantasy filled world that really demonstrates the power of words and brings to life what we all wish we could do: read ourselves into our favorite book.

22429350I can’t resist Emery Lord’s novels! Emery’s second novel, The Start of Me and You deserves all the praise. It’s part of the #QuietYA movement for sure, but it’s a beautiful novel about grief, creating yourself and friendship.

18608005The End or Something Like That by Ann Dee Ellis is a heartbreaking and hilarious book told in “Then” and “Now” sequences about a young girl who loses her best friend and then sees every other ghost in Las Vegas but not Kim–even though they totally planned for Kim to happily haunt Emmy for years. It’s a beautiful book and you all should read it. Trust me.

Have you read any of these books? What are the books that you feel are under rated and in need of more hype?
