Sex, stalking, scandal and scintillating twists and turns are waiting for you behind the cover of Closure or Ammo!
Lana and Val are best friends who both have bad luck with men, until they each meet someone. For Lana, it’s her hot new boss, Leo. When Leo suddenly ends the affair, Lana plays a dangerous game of cat and mouse to find out why. For single mother Val, she meets sexy detective, Travis, after he arrests her baby’s daddy. As their budding relationship undergoes a few surprises, Val must decide whether to stand by her friend or follow the law. Will Lana’s actions pit friend against friend or will their relationship withstand the test?
I ended up liking this much more than I thought I would. Dotson does a wonderful job of demonstrating how opposites attract in these two friends. These two women could not be more different. Yet, very slowly so that the reader never sees it coming, their lives end up going in directions that you couldn’t even imagine. Dotson also provides great examples of healthy vs unhealthy relationships and how these relationships deeply effect the individuals involved. Her two main characters are people have more secrets than what meets the eye.
The amount of sexual content in the book was great and added to the plot/story itself. It really made the book have a feminist feel in the way that it broke the gendered stereotype that women are not sexual beings. These two women, Val and Lana, have clearly embraced their sexuality in a way that should empower others. This feminist feel continues through the characters themselves as the plot progresses. Both women are strong, independent women who work long hours in order to do what is necessary to improve their lives for themselves and, in the case of Val, for her son. They both take pride in their work.

After his affair with Lana goes public, Leo is now jobless, broke, stressed and having to deal with his jaded wife who won’t let him see his two kids. He can’t afford a lawyer, so he takes up drug dealing for a major gang in town to be able to live.
Travis is part of a task force investigating one of the city’s most dangerous gangs. He must work undercover to get to the boss, Big P. During the investigation, his paths cross with Leo and he gets Leo to flip and work for them with dangerous and deadly consequences. Can they stay alive to see their loved ones or will the love of money be the end of the both of them?
Wow….just wow. This book clearly does not suffer from second book syndrome. It was absolutely action packed and I loved how it kept me on the edge of my seat, waiting for things to go horribly wrong. I really liked the change in perspective from the two main females to the two main male characters. It kept everything fresh and interesting. However, it kept the romance/erotica from the first book which I thought was great and kept the characters consistent with the way they acted in the first book. The ending is a serious whirlwind so just be ready – since it comes much faster than you would believe.

Travis is recovering from the ambush and is stuck working behind the desk at the police department. A chance phone call from his beautiful coworker, Lauren, not only arouses strong feelings for her, but also brings back an urge to get Big P once and for all. Travis dives into the investigation and dives deeper into things with Lauren, but he must stay focused if he wants to stay alive.
Lana is fresh out of jail and has nowhere to go. She begins dancing in a club to make ends meet and catches the eye of a rival club owner, Shawn. He’s got deep pockets and Lana thinks she’s living the life, but not all that glitters is gold. Lana begins moving mysterious packages around town to help Shawn and his secretive partner, Curtis. When she runs afoul of the law, Lana turns to the one person she thinks can help: Travis! Can he help Lana and close up his own case?
Overall, this book fell flat for me. I very much enjoy the different perspectives of all of the characters. This is something that many authors do not do and the fact that Dotson does it so well really says something about the potential of this author.
In this book we are reunited with Lana and get to see a whole new side of Travis that, personally, I did not enjoy at all. I really disliked the black hole he fell into, especially since the first two books portrayed him as a hero. Lana’s tragedies and misfortunes were more tolerable as her personality got much better and it seemed like the only option for someone as low as she was.
However Val – as cranky and miserable as she was – was enjoyable to see. She portrayed pregnancy in a negative light which is not something that you get to see often. There was no stereotypical glow surrounding her and she wasn’t a bouncing bundle of joy. She continued with the blunt personality that she had in the first two books and that really demonstrated how Dotson loves to break those societal boxes.
Another thing that I did not like is that the ending of the book seemed to be a bit rushed and was not as suspenseful as the detective/gang scenes in the second book.
Title: Love or Battle

Release Date: July 1, 2016 by Amazon Digital Services LLC
Lana, Leo, Val and Travis are excitedly planning Val and Travis’ upcoming wedding when life rears its ugly head. The guilt is weighing heavy on Travis and he admits to Val that he cheated. Val calls off the wedding, but Travis is busy trying to win her back and investigate his dad’s mysterious death. Lana begins damage control to save her best friend’s happily ever after while her personal and business relationship with Leo is falling apart. Lana must learn a lesson on forgiveness and hope she can teach it to Val before her wedding to Travis never happens.
I was seriously disappointed in this book. Being the last book in the series, I expected things to be cleanly and satisfyingly wrapped up. This book did wrap all the individual stories up but in a way that was entirely too fast. There was no specific detail to highlight the events that happened in this book and a lot of time was spent recapping what happened in the other three books. I felt this was a serious waste since the books are very short to begin with. This time could have been spent building the plot and providing more detail for some major events in Travis and Val’s life. One particular event deserved to be action packed and suspenseful (which Dotson proved she can do in her second book) but seemed to be wrapped up, without giving the reader a decent amount of information, in no time.
I really looked forward to seeing Val and Travis getting married, since I really enjoyed their love story, but even that event had almost no information about it and seemed to be skimmed over. It was disappointing to say the least.
